BURD BURD BURD!!! Seriously, though. Hanbei treats Tobias as he would a human, because to his knowledge, Tobias has easily displayed human-level intelligence. The sheer interesting quality of Tobias' existence is enough to drive Hanbei to talk to him again, but after basically saving his life, Hanbei is totally going to make him an ally. He will find mice and rabbits for Tobias if he can...! He does owe the bird for that fuck-up, after all.
